On Finite Gain Stabilizability of Linear Systems Subject to Input Saturation

چکیده
This paper deals with (global) nite-gain input/output stabilization of linear systems with saturated controls. For neutrally stable systems, it is shown that the linear feedback law suggested by the passivity approach indeed provides stability, with respect to every L p -norm. Explicit bounds on closed-loop gains are obtained, and they are related to the norms for the respective systems without saturation. These results do not extend to the class of systems for which the state matrix has eigenvalues on the imaginary axis with nonsimple (size > 1) Jordan blocks, contradicting what may be expected from the fact that such systems are globally asymptotically stabilizable in the state-space sense; this is shown in particular for the double integrator.

متن کاملFinite gain stabilization of discrete-time linear systems subject to actuator saturation
It is shown that, for neutrally stable discrete-time linear systems subject to actuator saturation, "nite gain l p stabilization can be achieved by linear output feedback, for all p3(1,R]. An explicit construction of the corresponding feedback laws is given. The feedback laws constructed also result in a closed-loop system that is globally asymptotically stable, and in an input-to-state estimat...
متن کاملSemi - Global Low - and - High Gain Design Techniquefor Linear Systems with Input Saturation
In this paper we propose a linear low-and-high gain design technique to solve the semi-global stabilization problem for a class of linear systems subject to input saturation. The central idea behind this new technique is to increase the utilization of the available control capability of the system. The power of this new semi-global design technique is shown by solving the problem of semi-global...

The feedback laws constructed also result in a closed-loop system that is globally asymptotically stable, and in an input-to-state estimate.
متن کاملSimultaneous L P -stabilization and Internal Stabilization of Linear Systems Subject to Input Saturation | State Feedback Case
We consider the problem of simultaneous nite gain L p-stabilization and internal stabilization of linear systems subject to input saturation via linear static state feedback. We show that bounded input nite-gain L p-stabilization and local asymptotic stabilization can always be achieved simultaneously no matter where the poles of the open loop system are, and the locations of these poles play a...
